The Cirque glacier-traverse

After Mt. Field, I was looking forward to a nice game of tic-tac-toe or maybe a crossword puzzle, but unforunatley for my legs, my good friends Deryl, Greg (the polish hammer) and Simon had the great idea to go for a ski tour around the Cirque peak area. After skiing up a broad forested ridge from the road and into the wide open alpine meadows, boot packing up Cirque peak itself and doing a bit of rappeling, you are rewarded with a nice 380 m run down a nice couloir which brings you to the pocket glacier behind the peak. After taking it all in and once again realizing how good life really is, we made our way over a small pass and down into the glades that surround the peak. The skins went back on as we shot back up to tree line to ski a beutiful run through the trees that eventually delivered us back to the highway, huge grins and all.
